DUNEDIN SIGHTSEEING
Experience magnificent viewing of the exciting diversity of wildlife which abounds on spectacular Tairoa Head; the only mainland nesting place for Northern Royal Albatross in the world, and home to NZ fur seals, and eight other nesting bird species. There’s always a possibility of seeing a fascinating array of rarely seen ocean birds including other species of albatross, penguins and marine mammals in their natural environment. Cruises depart: from Wellers Rock Wharf situated on the Otago Peninsula, 45 minutes from city. Duration 1 hour.
Take a fun double deck bus tour on a jaunt around Dunedin. You will see the world’s steepest street, New Zealand’s oldest University and their first Botanical garden. See Dunedin’s classic old railway station & courthouse precinct and Olveston Stately home. Visit St Kilda beach with it’s beautiful coastal views. This trip is approx. 90 minutes. (from 1 Oct trip is approx. 1 hour).

This tour
provides an experience we know you won't forget. It offers an opportunity to
experience the coal face of conservation. Via
a unique system of hides, tracks and tunnels, visitors gain first hand
information plus enjoy fantastic photographic opportunities of these
wonderful birds from distances down to less than a metre. The reserve is
situated at Penguin Place, near the end of the Otago Peninsula, 40 minutes
drive from Dunedin.
TAIERI GORGE RAILWAY Departing daily (except Christmas day) The Taieri Gorge Train takes you on a journey through the rugged and spectacular Taieri River Gorge, across wrought iron viaducts and through tunnels carved by hand more than 100 years ago. There are two styles of carriages. The traditional character carriage (1915-1925) have opening windows, single and couple seating and seats facing the direction of travel . The modern carriages have air-conditioning, tables and panoramic windows. Train departs and returns in the town centre at Dunedin's historic Edwardian railway station (built 1904-1907).
