NATURE & COAST - Suitable for everyone. A photographer's dream! A delightful sample of Coromandel Peninsula's natural heritage and scenic beauty. Enjoy the flora & fauna of the semi-tropical rainforest with giant ferns, kauri trees and crystal clear streams. Visit the old historic gold caves sparkling with glow-worms and hear the fascinating history of this magic area. Visit stunning coastal scenery with white sand beaches, magnificent cliffs decorated with ancient Pohutukawa trees, old Maori pa sites and offshore islands. A visit to Hot Water Beach [tide permitting]. Lunch will be a delightful picnic or a visit to our favourite café.

WILDERNESS ADVENTURE WALK - Moderate Challenge -Uneven surface. Ideal for those who enjoy walking & photography. This day will take you into tranquil & remote pristine Rainforest surrounded by giant rock faces, rugged Volcanic peaks, ancient Kauri, Rimu and Rata trees. Wonder at the world's largest tree ferns, crystal clear Rivers & rock pools. You may be treated to meeting Our 'friends' of nature. Visit old historic gold caves, home to sparkling glowworms. Enjoy the fascinating history and learn about the flora & fauna within this magnificent forest. We will carry picnic lunch to enjoy by the river or up in the mountains.

AOTEAROA TOURS – A Touch of Coromandel

THREE DAY COROMANDEL PENINSULAR TOUR departing daily from Auckland.

Day 1: Depart Auckland and travel along the Seabird Coast to Miranda Shorebird Centre, home to many migratory birds.  Continue through Thames and down the coast to the Rapaura Watergardens.  Ride aboard the train at Driving Creek Rail in Coromandel.  Take a walk to see the majestic 309 Rd Kauri.  Stay 2 nights in Whitianga at Aotearoa Lodge.
Day 2:  Travel to the Eastern beaches.  Soak in natural hot water spa pools dug in the sand at Hot Water Beach.  See spectacular scenery at Cathedral Cove.  Cross on the Whitianga Ferry.  Travel north to Kuaotunu to Otama Beach Reserve, Opito and the holiday resort of Matarangi.
Day 3: Morning at leisure. Depart Whitianga at lunchtime for the return journey to Auckland.  Visit Matatoki Cheese Farm enroute. 

Tour includes hotel pick up & drop off in Auckland, accommodation/dinner/breakfast at Aotearoa Lodge.
