Our high speed vessel will whisk you on a comfortable journey out through game fishing waters to the Cape Brett Lighthouse.  Next is Motukokako Island and the famous "Hole in the Rock"; the excitement grows as we make a passage through the Hole and on to the majestic Grand Cathedral Cave. R Tucker Thompson Tall Ship Sailing

Catch the breeze and set sail for the day on board the unique tall ship "R. Tucker Thompson", built in the tradition of 100 year old schooners by local Northlanders. She has sailed the world but today will explore the somewhat calmer seas of the Bay of Islands with you on board.  Help set the sails, take the helm or just lie back on deck and relax. Hear tales of the ship's exploits from the crew. Enjoy the Devonshire tea freshly baked and brewed in the galley each morning.  At lunchtime the vessel anchors in a secluded bay. CAPE REINGA WANDERER TOUR (via Ninety Mile Beach)

Join us on this most unique and exciting sea kayaking adventure. In one day we take you to the deserted Motumaire Island where you can lie in the sun, swim, snorkel or sample fresh shell fish, paddle past the historic Waitangi Treaty Grounds and up the Waitangi Estuary to the mysterious mangrove forest. Spend time paddling at leisure amongst the trees as our experienced guides explain this fascinating eco-system as well as pointing out the different fish and bird life along the way. For added excitement we take you to Haruru Falls where you can test your skills if you wish by kayaking under the waterfall before stopping for complimentary tea and coffee.

THE TREATY OF WAITANGI NIGHT SHOW

The Waitangi Treaty House and grounds form the single most symbolic place for Maori and European descendant alike. On this site in 1840 Queen Victoria's representative, William Hobson, and nearly 59 Maori Chiefs signed the document on which the country's constitution is based; the Treaty of Waitangi. It ceded the governorship of the country to Britain.

The evening interpretive cultural performance provides a contemporary presentation of Maori culture. It delivers a tapestry of song and dance with interpretation, local history and narration by a Maori elder.

Operates: Monday, Wednesday Thursday and Saturday. Other days by arrangement. Bookings are essential.

CAPE BRETT WALKWAY - Deep Water Cove Walk

Cape Brett Peninsula protectively encircles the Bay of Islands.
There are two ways to explore the rugged surf swept coastline and contrasting sheltered waters within the bay. Two thirds of the Peninsula is in Maori ownership.

Cruise in a catamaran through the Bay of Islands to Piercy Island. Drop off at Cape Brett Lighthouse. Take a 2.5 hour guided walk to Deep Water Cove. Lunch included. Return by boat to Russell/Paihia.
