Larnach Castle has been one of
Dunedin’s most popular visitor attractions for decades since it was opened
to the public in the late sixties. It’s now possible to stay in Larnach
Lodge, a new re-creation of a colonial farm building set in 35 acres of
gardens and grounds overlooking the ocean 1000 feet below. There are 12
bedrooms with private facilities, each individually decorated in period
style. Rooms have an en suite, heater, phone, tea and coffee making
facilities, radio alarm, hair drier, TV, guest laundry and car parking.
Breakfast is included in the rate and is served in the historical Stables
building adjacent to the Lodge. Lunch, morning and afternoon tea is
available in the Castle Café. Dinner may be taken in a fabulous castle
dining room (must be booked by 5.00pm).
