The 145 room Copthorne Hotel and Resort Bay of Islands is located within the Waitangi National Trust Reserve, surrounded by bush walks, a scenic golf course, the historic National Treaty House and the beautiful Bay of Islands harbour. All rooms were refurbished in 2001 with a choice of garden or sea or harbour view. Rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, minibar, phone, iron and ironing board, hair drier, Sky TV. The hotel offers 24 hour reception and room service, spectacular free form rock pools, courtesy shuttle to Paihia township (2 kilometres), guest laundry, tennis courts, summer volleyball and mountain bike hire. The Waitangi Restaurant offers relaxed and informal dining, with a la carte or buffet menus.

Conveniently located across the road from one of the Bay of Islands’ best beaches, minutes walk from the Paihia wharf and shops, the 22 unit Paihia Beach Resort was completed in December 1996, offering panoramic views from every suite, studio and private patio.
Three types of accommodation – deluxe studio’s, 1 Bedroom Superior suites and Two bedroom executive suites.  Studios have a kitchenette; suites a full size kitchen, all have mini bars, air conditioning, DVD, Hi Fi Systems Sky TV, tea and coffee making facilities. All have sea views.
The hotel offers a 20 metre heated swimming pool, spa, breakfast restaurant, concierge, luxury day spa and children’s play area. 

Between 1 May and 30 Sep includes one complimentary facial
or massage per room and daily private sauna or steam room session.

The Paihia Pacific Resort Hotel is situated just 150 metres (170 yards) to the beach. The Paihia (Bay of Islands) wharf and shops are a 5 minute flat stroll. The boutique style property offers 12 Air-Conditioned, Split Level, Superior Suites and 22 Deluxe Rooms. All rooms include direct dial phones, in house video and TV, tea and coffee and hair dryers. Rooms look over a lush natural setting of native and subtropical plantings. Hotel facilities include restaurant and bar, swimming pool, sauna, spa pool, gymnasium and solarium, flood lit tennis courts, guest laundry and dry-cleaning service.

The Scenic Circle Bay of Islands is situated at the entrance of the Paihia (Bay of Islands) township on 4.5 acres of park like grounds.  The 38 studio and one bedroom units feature timbered ceilings and quality fittings. 20 new deluxe rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and offer lots of natural light. Each room consists of two queen sized beds, ensuite bathroom, colour TV, direct dial phone, tea and coffee facilities, small bar refrigerator, luggage rack and writing desk.
The property has a swimming pool, two licensed restaurants and bar, recreation room and pool table, guest laundry and dry cleaning and email and inter net access. The beach is a one block stroll and the Paihia Wharf and shops are a 5/6 minute flat walk.

Situated on the waterfront only 100 metres from Paihia wharf and township, the 77 room and suite Kingsgate Hotel Autolodge, Paihia is the ideal base from which to explore the attractions of “the Bay”. Pukematu Lodge is the highest accommodation setting in Russell. There are spectacular sea views in all directions that allow you to gaze upon the beauty and magic of the surrounding bays from sunrise to sunset.
They have three luxury suites with private ensuites stylishly decorated in recycled rimu and all have their own private entrances. Along with Kay’s personal touches guests enjoy the comforting feeling that each suite has to offer. A full breakfast is served on the grand deck in the morning sun.
As your hosts are descendants from the area they have extensive knowledge of things to do including cultural aspects. They have a saying that people come as guests and leave as family.

Kauri House Lodge

Original features of this 1880s style villa include the detailed verandah balustrade, stained glass, pressed ceilings, sash windows and native Kauri panelling. Completed in 1910 by a leading bushman as a spacious family residence, Kauri House now offers three private ensuite guestrooms and three lounge rooms – a billiard room, library and television lounge – furnished with antiques. It exudes all the charms and style of early NZ but offers all the modern conveniences.
Only three kilometres from the township of Dargaville, with many nice restaurants. Kauri House is set in three hectares of garden with abundant native birdlife including fantails, wood pigeons and seasonal tui. A swimming pool provides relaxation and exercise in summer only. Nearby is Doug’s 40 hectare farm on which he runs steers and donkeys. This land includes 16 hectares of protected native bush.
